Our Team
Marc Kiven — Founder & CEO
Marc, the founder of CareRunner, is a successful entrepreneur who has been involved in several well-known Internet startups. Marc founded CareRunner out of the frustration he experienced managing the care of his father who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. With his siblings spread out across the country, Marc wanted to find a way where he could get everyone in his circle-of-care to work from the same play book. Marc, his wife and two daughters live in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago. Marc is excited to be developing a business that will provide value and service to families like his. Marc is a graduate of Arizona State University.
Bob Hoyler — President & COO
Bob is a serial entrepreneur who has lived the CareRunner experience. Having “been responsible” for several relatives, because “he was in town” with an extended family strewn across the US, Bob has shared the pain. Married with four terrific kids, he sees CR as a great thing and a great opportunity to build a wonderful company. A veteran of several other successful start-ups including MyPoints, Bob relishes the experience of building something great. A lifelong Chicagoan, he has a BA from Loyola of Chicago and a MBA from Northwestern.
Todd Chu — Co-founder & CSO
Todd has leveraged his background in business development and systems integration to ensure that CareRunner's strategic vision and direction remains consistent to its core beliefs and focused on its mission. Having been involved since the very beginning, Todd believes that CareRunner is simply needed in the today's world and welcomes the opportunity to deliver a truly great solution to care communities globally. Todd has a BS in Engineering from the University of Michigan and has had an extensive career within the online advertising industry having held management positions at aQuantive (now Microsoft) and Doubleclick (now Google).
Justin Knowlden — Co-founder & Chief Architect
Justin is extremely passionate about developing the right tools for families and communities to help themselves. Justin's family is an active bunch distributed all over the United States, which doesn't really allow for a lot of synchronous collaboration in times of need. Justin sees CareRunner as a great tool for allowing families, including his, to effectively communicate their "goings on" while being intuitive and anticipatory. Justin is a very experienced developer with history at several other successful start-ups including MyPoints.
Susan Conley — Product Manager
Susan is the “textbook demographic” for caregivers in the US today. She has had the experience of caring for two family members and is keenly aware of how time consuming and emotionally draining the care process can be. Susan regards CareRunner as a lifeline to give millions of caregivers like her the tools to better manage this difficult process. In addition to holding degrees from The University of Michigan and Wayne State University, she is working on an on-the-job advanced degree in motherhood raising two very active young children.
